The Finca Antigua Tempranillo Crianza is a beautifully balanced and expressive red wine that showcases the elegance of Tempranillo from La Mancha. Aged in oak barrels, it pours a deep ruby-red colour.

The nose reveals enticing aromas of ripe black cherry, plum and blackberry, intertwined with notes of vanilla, cedar and a touch of spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with velvety tannins, offering flavours of dark berries, cocoa and a hint of toasted almond. Finca Antigua was established in 2003 by brother-and-sister team Carlos and Pilar Martínez-Bujanda Irribarria, whose family has been making wine since 1889.

Finca Antigua or “Old Estate” is named after the impressive old vines which provide the fruit for these excellent wines. The vineyard is sub-divided into thirty plots, each planted to the most suitable variety. Known for its high-altitude vineyards and unique terroir, the estate combines modern winemaking techniques with a respect for traditional methods.

The Tempranillo comes from a parcel called Escalerillas, planted in 1990. The must was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with a sixteen-day maceration. The wine was then aged for ten months in American oak barrels.
