Producer

Pronounced SENZA. The Italian definition of ā€œwithoutā€, or ā€œto do withoutā€. No chemicals, no pesticides. Only what Mother Nature has given us. A range of incredibly delicious wines produced using exclusively organic grapes.

WeĀ promote biodiversity and allow plants other than vines to grow in and around the vineyard. Biodiversity helps regulate the vineyard soil by attracting beneficial insects, spiders and predatory mites, as well as providing shelter and food (pollen, nectar and other bugs), and replaces the need for chemical pesticides or insecticides. What cannot be fully controlled through biodiversity can still be managed organically, through the use of naturally-occurring plant or mineral extracts, which leave no residues in the soil.

We also do not use any weed/killers, preferring to let the weeds grow.Ā The weeds and grass are then mowed periodically so that the cut weeds rot back into the soil, which provides us with great organic fertiliser.

Food Pairings

This rich and versatile Primitivo is a perfect match for hearty dishes. Pair it with slow-cooked lamb shanks, beef lasagna, or roasted pork tenderloin. Its bold profile also complements spicy barbecued ribs or mushroom-based dishes like wild mushroom risotto. For a touch of indulgence, enjoy it with aged Parmesan or dark chocolate desserts. Its generous flavours and approachable style make it a fantastic choice for both casual meals and special occasions.

Wine Region

The Puglia region, located in the sunny south of Italy, is renowned for its rich winemaking heritage and diverse terroirs. Known as the “heel of Italyā€™s boot,” Pugliaā€™s warm Mediterranean climate and fertile soils create ideal conditions for growing Primitivo. The regionā€™s long days of sunshine and cooling coastal breezes contribute to the grapeā€™s full ripeness and vibrant flavours. Wines from Puglia are celebrated for their boldness, balance, and ability to express the unique character of their terroir.
