Masi Frescaripa Bardolino Classico, Veneto, Italy
Frescaripa is a Bardolino Wine produced with the traditional Veronese grapes Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. A light, red wine with an intense bouquet thanks to the beneficial climate of Lake Garda nearby.
The nose has aromas of cherries, wild strawberries and blackcurrant. Vibrant, fresh and aromatic on the palate with hints of pepper on the finish, this is light-bodied yet full of flavour.

Though run by the Boscaini family for six generations, it is really in the last fifty years that Masi has established itself as one of the Veneto’s most innovative wine producers. In the late 1950s, they identified certain historic vineyard plots which are vinified as Amarone and bottled separately to this day. In 1964, they launched the now-legendary Campofiorin, which revived the technique of a second fermentation with semi-dried grapes. Masi have also rescued the ancient Oseleta variety from extinction, and continue to use it in two of their celebrated “Supervenetian” wines. The grapes are grown on the hills of the historic Bardolino Classico zone close to Lake Garda, in vineyards with morenic soil.
Frescaripa: the name is a reference to the hillside vineyards of origin in the Bardolino Classico zone. Here the surrounding woods and cooling breezes from Lake Garda promote particularly favourable geo-climatic conditions.
