Balfour Blanc de Noirs 2018, Kent, England
Balfour Blanc de Noirs hails from the legendary 2018 vintage. A wonderfully pale peach hue and copper highlights, with a nose of tangerines and lime with a blackcurrant bud undertone. The tangerine zest transfers seamlessly onto a rich and complex palate of red fruits, oyster shell and lemon. Balfour Blanc de Noirs is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and is a characteristically Balfour wine with wonderful tension, vibrancy and complexity

The Balfour-Lynn Family
Hush Heath Estate has been part of the Balfour-Lynn family for three generations, but it wasn’t until Richard and Leslie purchased the 400-acre farmland attached to Hush Heath Estate that Balfour Winery’s story began.
It was Leslie’s idea to plant the original vines at Hush Heath in 2002, with a view to making a pink sparkling wine of equivalent quality to Billecart Salmon Rosé – their favourite pink Champagne. And so, five acres were planted with an aim to produce a wine they would love. “If we can’t sell it”, they thought, “we’ll drink it”.
Fortunately, when Balfour Brut Rosé was launched in 2004 it quickly became a major success, winning a gold medal and trophy in the International Wine Challenge for its first vintage. The accolades did not stop there and Balfour Brut Rosé was the first English Sparkling wine served on British Airways First Class worldwide. It was also chosen as the only English wine to be served at the London 2012 Olympics. It has truly earned its title of “England’s most exclusive pink fizz”
The Winery
Hush Heath Estate is the home to Balfour Winery. A beautiful Tudor Estate in the heart of Kent, the Garden of England.
The Estate comprises 400-acres of manicured vineyards, apple orchards, wildflower meadows and ancient oak woodland, rich in flora and fauna. Sustainability and conservation are of paramount importance and reflected in the practices used across the Estate
Each of Balfour’s 200-acres of vineyards has been carefully chosen and planted to compliment their winemaking philosophy. Located on either clay, chalk or greensand each vineyard is an expression of its unique terroir. Over half of the vineyards are located on Hush Heath Estate itself, planted on Wealden clay soils. These sites are used for many of the single-vineyard wines, including the flagship Balfour Brut Rosé.
They also manage vineyards in Kent, planted especially for the team by their long term grower partners. These vineyards are planted on greensand, known for wines of poise and balance, and chalk showing wines with a lean, clean character.
The care, attention and passion shown by Balfour’s viticultural team enable their winemakers to produce the top quality that Balfour is associated with.
