Angelo Veglio Barolo 2017, Piedmont, Italy
This medium bodied Italian Barolo wine is aged for 2 years in wood. It encourages a typically rich, elegant and complex wine with earthy flavours and notes of violets. This is a wine with great structure, conjuring up red berries, raspberries, wild strawberries and cherries. There are also hints of cinnamon, pepper, nutmeg, vanilla, withered violets and roses.

A family history rooted in the territory and in the tradition of grape processing, in the La Morra winery is reflected in the quality of the wines, paying particular attention to the use of modern agricultural techniques and limiting the use of additives to a minimum. The winery and the company headquarters are located in the Langhe, Piedmontese land that has always been the home of an enology celebrated all over the world, in the farmhouse that was bought, almost two centuries ago. It was in 1886 when Francesco, the forefather of the Veglio family, bought the first nucleus of the current La Morra winery, an old farmhouse surrounded by vineyards once belonging to the Opera Pia and to the parish benefit, in which the wine production was already a tradition rooted and respected. Here, in the Langhe region, a land of production of flagship wines of Made in Italy quality, such as Barolo, Barbera and Fresia, the cellar still stands today, two centuries later.
