This unique Viura is aged “sobre lías” (on the lees), giving it extra depth and complexity. The Finca Antigua Viura Sobre Lías is a beautifully crafted organic white wine that showcases the richness and complexity of Viura. Aged on its lees (“sobre lías”), it offers a golden-yellow hue with greenish highlights.

The nose is vibrant, with aromas of green apple, citrus blossom and pear, complimented by subtle hints of brioche, hazelnut and white flowers.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied and creamy, delivering flavours of ripe orchard fruits, lemon curd and a touch of honeyed almond. Its refreshing acidity and silky texture leads to a long, elegant finish with a delicate minerality.

Finca Antigua, located in the heart of La Mancha, is a pioneering organic winery committed to sustainability and innovation and was established in 2003 by brother-and-sister team Carlos and Pilar Martínez-Bujanda Irribarria, whose family has been making wine since 1889.

Finca Antigua or “Old Estate” is named after the impressive old vines which provide the fruit for these excellent wines. The Finca Antigua Viura Sobre Lías is made from from 100% Organic estate Viura grapes, grown at 2700 ft above sea level and sourced from a single plot named, “El Palomar”. This wine is fermented at low temperatures and with skin contact to preserve and enhance the brilliant fruit and floral aromas of the Viura variety. Five months ageing sur-lie (Sobre Lías) adds further to the body and complexity of the wine.

Known for its high-altitude vineyards and unique terroir, the estate combines modern winemaking techniques with a respect for traditional methods. The Viura Sobre Lías is a standout example of their dedication to crafting wines that reflect the purity of the land and the complexity of Spain’s native grape varieties. By aging the wine on its lees, Finca Antigua enhances its texture and depth, creating a wine that is both refined and approachable.
