Producer

Georges Duboeuf is a story that began more than four centuries ago, when the Duboeuf family was producing wine in the Mâconnais. It is a story that inspired Georges Duboeuf at a very young age, when his uncle and brother passed on to him their wine-making know-how. Barely 18 years old, he quits his studies to take care of the family estate in Chaintré, one of the Villages of Pouilly-Fuissé.

Georges Duboeuf, often referred to as the “King of Beaujolais,” is renowned for his skill in producing wines that celebrate the unique character of French terroirs. While Duboeuf is famous for his Beaujolais wines, he also crafts wines from other notable regions like Languedoc and Burgundy. The “Le Bouquet de Georges” series represents his passion for fresh, approachable wines that are perfect for everyday enjoyment.

Le Bouquet de Georges Rouge is a testament to his commitment to quality, showcasing his skill in crafting approachable, fruit-driven wines with finesse. Georges Duboeuf wines are celebrated for their vibrant flavours and consistency, making them a favourite choice for wine enthusiasts around the world.

Food Pairings

This versatile Merlot pairs wonderfully with a wide range of foods. Its soft tannins and fruit-forward character make it a natural match for roasted chicken, pork tenderloin, or grilled vegetables. For a traditional French pairing, enjoy it with a classic coq au vin or beef bourguignon. It also complements savoury pasta dishes, such as mushroom risotto or pasta Bolognese. For a casual option, try it with a charcuterie board or mild cheeses like Brie and Camembert. Its versatility makes it a great choice for casual gatherings and weeknight meals alike.

Wine Region

Vin de France wines are crafted using grapes sourced from a variety of regions across France, allowing winemakers greater flexibility to blend grapes from different terroirs. This classification highlights the skill of the winemaker in producing high-quality, approachable wines that showcase the character of the grape rather than a single region. In the case of Georges Duboeuf’s Merlot, grapes are selected from vineyards with optimal conditions for producing a fruit-forward, balanced Merlot mainly from Languedoc. This approach offers the best expression of French Merlot, combining ripe fruit, subtle earthiness and elegance.
