Henri de Villamont Bourgogne Chardonnay Prestige, Burgundy, France
Henri de Villamont’s vibrant White Burgundy has characteristic aromas of red apple, toasted nuts with fresh aromas of apricot, grapefruit and green plum. A crispy Chardonnay with a round attack and a lovely minerality. Very-well balanced between fruit and a distinctive acidity complete this fine expression of the Henri de Villamont style.

Occupying an impressive nineteenth-century building in Savigny-Lès- Beaune, Henri de Villamont is a medium-sized producer that combines an enviable domaine (they are particularly strong in Chambolle-Musigny) with a meticulously sourced négociant range. The cuverie was updated with the latest equipment less than ten years ago, and underneath there is ample storage for barrels in the beautiful double-height cellar. These features give the winemaker flexibility and precision, resulting in excellent expression of the various terroirs on offer, which include some particularly well-sited vineyards.
Grapes for this wine were sourced from Mâcon and Meursault.
Fifty-five percent of the wine was fermented in tank below 20ºC over three weeks, while the remainder was fermented and aged ten months in new 350-litre French oak barrels.
