Established in 1904, Mezzacorona combines traditional practices with modern techniques to produce wines that reflect the purity of the region. The Castel Firmian range showcases wines crafted from select vineyard sites, emphasising the unique characteristics of each varietal.
The Castel Firmian Merlot is a shining example of the winery’s dedication to showcasing international grape varieties with a distinctly Trentino character. and is a testament to Mezzacorona’s dedication to producing fresh, elegant wines that capture the essence of the Dolomites.
Mezzacorona was one of the first growers’ associations in Italy. Forward thinking and progressive for its time, they have a state-of-the-art winery and meticulous viticulture bringing out the full potential of its 2,400 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are to be found on the plains and terraces of the Dolomite foothills, stretching between Lake Garda and the Alps to the north. Each vineyard site is planted to the grape variety best suited to its particular characteristics and follows sustainable practices. The grape growers of Mezzacorona work hard to preserve the specificity of different wine-growing zones in the area and maintain organic and fertile soils, which is the basis for producing excellent wine. 75% of Mezzacorona’s state-of-the-art winery is located underground, providing naturally cooler temperatures, whilst solar power is used to heat water and to provide a green source of electricity.
