Daniel Dampt is one of Chablis’ most celebrated producers, and he produces wines both under his own name and that of Jean Defaix, his father-in-law. The domaine covers 30 hectares of vines (16 in AOC Chablis and 14 in 1er Cru vineyards) split across five sites.

Working with his two sons, Vincent and Sebastien, who have worked in New Zealand and Australia, the family produce clean, ultra-pure whites with bright steely acidity and not so much as a hint of oak. They craft wines that are true to the history of the region and reflect the rich heritage of the Defaix name.

The 2022 vintage reflects the estate’s dedication to quality, with grapes from premier vineyards planted on Kimmeridgian limestone soils. This distinctive terroir, combined with meticulous care in the cellar, results in a wine that is both vibrant and complex.
