Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chaumes Domaine Roux 2021, France, Burgundy, Côtes de Beaune
This fabulous Chassagne Montrachet is mature, complex and sophisticated with depth and character – ripe yellow and green fruits with spice and a touch of blossom. The nose carries tones of vanilla, apple, citrus, toasted almond, butterscotch and ripe fruit. The palate is equally rich and rewarding, with great structure and balance throughout. Lively acidity carries through to the end of the lip-smacking finish. Gorgeous !

Domaine Roux Pere et Fils is a family-run business based in the hills of St-Aubin, at the southern end of the Cote d’Or. The family’s winemaking heritage stretches back to 1855 and they now own over 70 hectares of vineyards across the region – from Bourgogne up to Grand Cru – making it one of the largest independent domaines in Burgundy.
The current team in charge of production consists of brothers Mathieu, who makes the wine, and Sebastien, who manages the business. Their passion and energy has been the driving force behind a notable rise in quality. Burgundy lovers take note: this is definitely a domaine to watch.
